The project »DISCUSS, UNDERSTAND ... CHANGE!«  is supported by the European Commission within the Youth in action programme, Youth in the world, Partners: Educational Debate Centre, Lithuania; Debate Programme at School of international studies, Beijing University, Bejing, China; Chulalongkorn University Bangkog Debating Society, Thailand and Za in proti, zavod za kulturo dialoga, Slovenia as the leading partner.

This project brings 4 different international events - planning meeting in Bangkok, youth workers and youth leaders training in Slovenia, youth exchange in China and youth forum in Lithuania in which 100 young persons and 34 youth workers from all 4 countries will participate. Additionally, there will be activities simultaneously organised in all participating countries – 3 essay contests, minimum 480 young people participating, 60 public debates, minimum 600 young people being actively involved and 10 Internet debates, minimum 80 young people being actively involved.   All together there will be 1390 young persons and youth workers actively involved, indirectly as audience of public and Internet debates, being exposed to different information strategies - minimum of 30 000 young people.

Main objective of the project is to empower young people, youth workers and youth organisations involved to become outspoken and strong advocates for youth participation, cultural diversity, inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities and global issues affecting young people, such as climate change, sustainable development, migrations and the Millennium Development Goals. The very important objective is that youth involved learn about different cultures and traditions, the difference between Europe and Asia with specific focus on Euro – China dialogue.  Additionally, we do expect the follow ups of this project will be numerous youth initiatives advocating different priorities of this project, establishing a few youth organisations and some new future projects, including also new youth organisations from other Asian and European countries.

We kindly invite you to regularly check the web page for fresh updates on the events connected to the project and to join Facebook group dedicated to the event ‘Discuss, understand... Change’.
